With a week left of our fall program, we wanted to prep our group so they felt more than ready to take on what’s next for them, whether it be a startup job, corporate job, freelance work. So we invited some industry experts over to do just that.
Tim Jahn, Co-Founder of Matchist and Entrepreneurs Unpluggd, spoke about the pros and cons of freelancing, and how this ultimately gave him the idea of starting Matchist, a freelancer’s best friend. If you’re a freelancer looking for a new project, we suggest checking it out. He also gave valuable insights on things like billing, contracts, negotiation, communication with clients, and how to market yourself so as a freelancer, you’re not struggling to find your next project.
Chad Lilly, Director of Mobile at LexTech, spoke about industry best practices, trends, and the direction he sees mobile heading in. Chad’s been in the mobile space for years, working in both iOS and Android.
Jill Felska, Fairy Job Mother (best title ever) at Path. To, walked us through their product, which is a friendly tool, enabling job seekers to find meaningful, enjoyable work. Path.To works very closely with developers and designers, so it was great for our students to get introduced to the product.
